In the neonatal unit and nursery,
the BabyWeigh is especially useful when
caring for premature babies or babies with
medical problems whose level of breastmilk
intake must be closely monitored. The scale’s
accuracy and ease of use allow physicians
and staff more flexibility in treatment,
discharge planning and home care.
At Home: Mothers
who want to be reassured that their babies
are getting enough breastmilk can rent BabyWeigh
for home use. The scale is especially helpful
for premature babies or babies who are experiencing
some breastfeeding problems.
How It Works:
The BabyWeigh is used to electronically
measure baby’s exact weight just before
and just after breastfeeding. The difference
between these two weights equals breastmilk
intake. The BabyWeigh is accurate to 2 g
(0.1 oz.) up to 6 000 g (12 lb.) and 5 g
(0.2 oz.) from 6 000 g to 12 000 g (12 to
24 lb.).
