Camilla, Thank you for providing
me with the knowledge I needed for making the
best decisions for my family and for being realistic,
caring and supportive. You really helped me get
through the breastfeeding challenges I had not
anticipated and you were there with the suggestions
and answers when I needed them.
Through your support, knowledge
and encouragement I was able to accomplish my
goal and breastfeed Cort and Ella. If I had given
up I would have missed out on some special moments
such as how they hold hands and interact with
each other while nursing. To see my babies grow
from the milk my breasts are producing for them
gives me a great sense of accomplishment for not
giving up and is a wonderful bonding time for
the three of us!
Thank you Camilla!
Sincerely,
Danna, Cort & Ella Munro - Ottawa

May 2008
My dear Camilla,
As you know, my little Brianna was born tongue-tied
and was unable to breastfeed during my hospital
stay. When I left the hospital, my little angel
was 100% on formula and I was extremely disappointed
for being unable to breastfeed her. I honestly
felt as though I had failed as a mother. While
I was pregnant, I was so looking forward to breastfeeding
my daughter as it was to me an important part
of motherhood and being unable to do so was devastating.
This was not what I had planned, it was not how
it was supposed to be.
Two weeks after I returned
home, Brianna was constipated and guilt took over
me. I really wanted my daughter to receive the
benefits of breast milk, so I decided to start
pumping my milk. I had no idea how often to pump
and found it to become a hassle. It felt as though
all I did during the day was to give her a bottle,
change her and pump my milk, when I would be done
pumping, it would be time to once again, feed
her, change her and pump again. I felt as though
I didn’t have time to do anything else…it
really was exhausting and I wanted to quit so
many times!
Then everything changed
when I met you a couple of days after Brianna’s
tongue got clipped. You came into my home, and
after our initial consultation told me that you
would not be surprised if Brianna ends up being
a 100% breastfed baby. I thought it was too late
for her to be able to latch on to my breasts as
she never did and was already two months old but
you were right. That day when my little angel
latched on and drank at the breast, I was overwhelmed
with so many feelings of joy, accomplishment and
love for my daughter that I could not hold back
the tears. I was finally able to strengthen my
bond with her.
Thanks to your services
and support, today at four months old, my little
princess latches on properly and is exclusively
breastfed. I finally no longer have to pump multiple
times a day and am free to go about my day without
worrying about having bottles or bringing my pump
with me. All this Camilla is to say, thank you!
I would have never been able to attain my goal
if it wasn’t for your constant support.
Thank you for all the advice you gave me on how
to transition from pumping to exclusively breastfeeding.
Thank you for equipping me with different tools
(lactaid, nipple shield, breast pump bra, etc).
Finally, thank you for being available either
through emails or at the breastfeeding support
clinics. Thanks to you, I feel like a successful
mother and both me and my baby girl enjoy every
day the benefits of breastfeeding.
An extremely satisfied
client,
